I'm very excited that Invasion '53 has won its seventh Best of Fest award! Thank you to the Tower Horror Film Fest. Our screening at the historic Tower Theatre in Fresno, California, is this weekend, which is also the final weekend of our festival run.

Last weekend at The Screaming Room Film Festival, Invasion '53 won not only the Anthology of Terror Audience Award but also the juried award for best of the festival -- the Palme d'Gore! Midsummer Scream is the world's largest Halloween and Horror Convention, drawing more than 50,000 people. It was an awesome event, and the film festival was particularly well done. Thank you to my friends who came out to support me and to the fest organizers!

On Tuesday night, I spoke at the Ladybug Music Festival's event Her Lens: Stories by Women on Screen. We screened Invasion '53 for a packed house at The Screening Room at 1313 in Wilmington, Delaware, and then there was a spirited Q&A and lots of networking afterward. The audience reception was great. One of my favorite lines--"Where is my wife?"--got a huge laugh. This past year has been very rewarding and enjoyable, as I've been traveling to film festivals all around the country. The run started in San Jose in March and then took me to the Jersey shore, Palm Springs, Richmond, the Eastern Shore, Huntsville, and the biggest trip of all--San Diego Comic-Con! I had a wonderful time in Rocket City -- Huntsville, Alabama -- last weekend. Invasion '53 won Best Ensemble, Best Wardrobe, and the top award -- Best of Show! Before the screening, I checked out the home of Space Camp and saw not one but two incredible Saturn V rockets! The film festival was held in a movie studio, which was a cool venue.
