Watching my film on the big screen in L.A. was amazing!
Down with the Ship had its West Coast premiere Wednesday at the Marina del Rey Film Festival. I find it incredible that we shot this film on tiny iPhones, with a ship that measured only seven inches, and there it was, screening in a big theatre--with a ship seven feet wide--in the movie capital of the world!
The wide shots of the ship sinking worked especially well on the big screen. I got feedback from those who had previously seen the film online that they noticed new things and reacted differently, seeing it projected on this scale. The audience laughed many times and enjoyed the screening.
