There are movie theatres and then there's Grauman's Chinese Theatre! This week, as part of the Silicon Beach Film Festival, my short film Down with the Ship screened at the modern incarnation of that great venue, the TCL Chinese 6!
The day started with lunch in the historic Roosevelt Hotel. The ornate lobby was beautiful! Then, we strolled the Walk of Fame, checked out the celebrity handprints outside the Chinese Theatre, and walked the red carpet. The screening had a strong turnout, and the film got lots of laughs.
I was grateful to be joined by friends and family for this memorable day. I'm especially glad that my collaborators on the film--Alex and Erika Newman--were able to attend. I finally got to see the quilled ocean liner in person. Even knowing how small and detailed the ship would be, I was still blown away by it!
Following the screening, we saw the famous Hollywood sign and enjoyed sundaes at the Ghirardelli soda fountain. It was a wonderful day in Hollywood!
